Battery Percentage Display for Electric Skateboard Batteries
Quickly check the estimated charge level of your electric skateboard or DIY lithium-ion battery pack with the LCD Battery Percentage Indicator.
TorqueBoards uses this compact display with compatible battery wiring and anti-spark on/off switch harnesses. When the battery system is switched on, the LY6N Battery Percentage Display provides an easy-to-read battery percentage and level indicator based on the pack’s total voltage.
It gives builders a convenient way to check approximate battery status before riding, charging, testing, or servicing a compatible electric-vehicle project.
Model - LY6N LCD Battery Percentage
Key Features
- Displays estimated remaining battery percentage
- Easy-to-read LCD screen
- Compact panel-mount design
- Designed for compatible lithium-ion battery packs
- Works well with electric skateboards and modular EV projects
- Can be connected to a compatible anti-spark on/off switch harness
- Provides a quick battery-level reference without opening the enclosure
- Useful for new battery builds, repairs, and replacement installations
Common Applications
The LY6N may be used with:
- TorqueBoards electric skateboard battery packs
- DIY electric skateboard batteries
- Modular lithium-ion battery packs
- Drift trikes and drift carts
- Lightweight electric-vehicle projects
- Battery enclosures and control panels
- Compatible anti-spark switch wiring harnesses
How It Works
The LY6N reads the battery pack’s total voltage and converts that reading into an estimated battery charge percentage.
The percentage shown is an approximation based on voltage. It does not directly measure the battery’s true remaining amp-hour capacity.
The displayed percentage may vary depending on:
- Battery configuration
- Battery chemistry
- Selected display settings
- Battery temperature
- Battery age
- Voltage sag under load
- Recent charging or discharging activity
For the most useful reading, the indicator must be configured for the correct battery type and series count.
TorqueBoards Installation
TorqueBoards commonly connects the LY6N to the main anti-spark on/off switch harness used with compatible battery packs.
This allows the display to turn on with the battery system and show the estimated charge level only when the main switch is activated.
Your exact installation may vary depending on the battery architecture, connector type, wiring harness, and enclosure design.

What’s Included
- One LY6N LCD Battery Percentage Indicator
Wiring harnesses, connectors, mounting hardware, anti-spark switches, and battery packs are not included unless specifically shown or stated in the product options.
Compatibility
Before installation, confirm:
- Your battery voltage is supported by the specific LY6N configuration
- The display is programmed for the correct series count
- The battery chemistry is compatible
- The connector and wiring arrangement match your system
- Positive and negative polarity are correctly identified
- The display is not exposed to voltage beyond its rated range
Do not assume compatibility based only on the connector fitting.
Important Limitations
The LY6N is intended as a convenient battery-level reference.
It does not:
- Display individual cell-group voltages
- Measure cell balance
- Measure true battery capacity
- Determine battery health
- Replace a battery management system
- Replace a multimeter
- Detect every battery fault
- Confirm that a battery is safe to use or charge
A battery may show an acceptable total voltage while still having an imbalanced, damaged, or failing cell group.
Installation and Safety
Disconnect and isolate the battery before installing or modifying any wiring.
Always verify polarity before connecting the display. Reversed polarity or excessive voltage may permanently damage the unit.
Lithium-ion batteries can cause fire, serious injury, or property damage if incorrectly wired, short-circuited, damaged, overcharged, or serviced improperly.
Installation should only be completed by someone familiar with:
- Lithium-ion battery systems
- Wiring polarity
- Pack voltage
- Series configurations
- Insulated tools
- Electrical safety procedures
Stop using the battery if you notice excessive heat, swelling, unusual odor, damaged wiring, abnormal voltage, physical damage, or inconsistent readings.
